The Central Piedmont Football League strongly emphasizes
the need for a safe playing atmosphere for practices
and games with all of its affliates. In the development
of league policies and procedures, the League stresses
the importance of safety with regards to equipment,
playing rules, inclement weather situations and many
other areas.
While the Central Piedmont Football League may provide
guidance in these areas, the individual organizations
are responsible for ensuring that all coaches, parents,
volunteers, etc. are implementing these policies and
procedures during all team and League functions.

| Equipment |
|
The following items shall be worn by players of all
tackle football divisions when participating in practices
or games where physical contact occurs:
- Helmet w/ appropriate padding, face mask and chin
strap
- Shoulder Pads
- Pants w/ appropriate padding
- Thigh Pads
- Hip Pads
- Tailbone Pad
- Knee Pads
- Mouth Guard - must remain attached to helmet face
mask
- Athletic Supporter - male participants
- Shoes - Non-detachable, rubber cleated shoes (no
metal or screw-in cleats)
- Jersey - Game jersey or practice jersey worn over
shoulder pads
- Undershirt - worn under shoulder pads
- Eye Wear - If worn, must be non-shattering (safety)
glass w/ strap or contacts
Note: All equipment must be approved by The
National Operating Committee on Standards of Athletic
Equipment (NOCSAE). If you have a question about
whether or not specific pieces of equipment are allowed,
please contact your Area Director.
